A bell tower and a drum tower stand on each side of Baoguang Pagoda. The bell rings in the morning and drum is beaten in the evening, adding the air of calmness to the temple. Behind the drum tower, opposite the guest’s room is Hall of Dharma Guardian, near which is Hall of Seven Buddhas. The hall was built in the 11th year (1861) of Emperor Xian Feng in the Qing Dynasty. Below the pillars of the front eaves are two stone bases with bas-relief sculptures of dragons, which are the only objects left by Emperor Xizong. Three niches enshrine seven gilded statues which are the seven Buddhas, each being over 5 meters high in Skanda. A 1.36-meter reclining Buddha, made of white marble, donated by Burmese Buddhists in 1991, is enshrined in front of the niche.
